$BITS is the native token of the BitSwap ecosystem, a utility-driven tool that will play an important role in the long-term growth and success of the project. The BitSwap tokenomic structure has been carefully constructed to ensure the project's longevity, whilst also to maintain a sustainable ecosystem that rewards the very people who choose to support it. The implementation of staking your $BITS allows those who support the project to directly benefit from BitSwap's growth and success.
$BITS' holders receive benefits, such as revenue share and discounts across our utilities. However, our utilities aren't limited to holders, you're a valid BitSwap community member whether you're a holder or not.
The use of $BITS powers almost every aspect of the BitSwap ecosystem, from bridging to staking and governance. Current and future utilities utilise $BITS to reward holders, provide discounts, grant voting power and more. The utilities powered by the $BITS token are currently, but not limited to:
Bridging: The BitSwap bridge protocol is designed to enable private crypto transactions, allowing a secure means of crypto transfer which emphasizes the privacy of both sender and recipient. Holding $BITS grants various bridge discounts, relative to your holdings. Staking: The staking of our native token $BITS grants holders the ability to earn revenue share from all current and future BitSwap utilities, rewarded in ETH.
Governance: Bitswap's community plays an integral role in the growth and expansion of the protocol, which is why we value their opinion the most. Governance is an integral part of any successful project, which is why $BITS' holders will be able to vote towards proposals with the voting power their token holdings grant.
